2048 DROP
A number-merging physics puzzle in a sea-glass jar. Drop numbered balls, watch them roll and settle, and merge matching numbers into bigger ones: 2 and 2 make 4, 4 and 4 make 8, all the way up to 2048 and beyond. Keep the pile below the danger line to stay in the game.
- Puzzle
- Drag and drop
- Endless: 2048 and beyond
- Saves your best and daily scores
How to play
- Move your mouse or drag your finger to slide the waiting ball left and right above the jar.
- Click, or let go of the screen, to drop it. Gravity takes over, and the ball rolls and settles on the pile.
- When two balls with the same number touch, they merge into one ball worth double. Merges can set off chain reactions.
- Every merge scores the value of the new ball, and chain merges earn a bonus. Bigger merges are worth far more.
- Keep the pile below the dashed red danger line. If a ball sits above it for about two and a half seconds, the game ends.
Controls
- Computer: move the mouse to aim and click to drop. Arrow keys aim and Space drops.
- Phone and tablet: drag to aim and lift your finger to drop.
- NEXT shows the ball you'll drop next, plus a smaller preview of the one after it. The Sound button turns effects on or off.
Strategy tips
- Keep your biggest numbers together in one corner so they can merge with each other as they grow.
- Check NEXT before every drop and leave a spot for it beside a matching number.
- Avoid stranding small balls between big ones. A lonely 2 at the bottom can block a whole column.
- Keep open space in the middle of the jar so new balls have room to land and roll.
- Chain merges score extra, so line up pairs that will set each other off.
- A ball crossing the danger line for a moment is fine. Watch the countdown and clear the top before it runs out.
