Crayon Code
A code-breaking puzzle with crayons. There's a secret row of colours and you have to work it out. After each guess, dots tell you how close you are: a filled dot for every crayon in the right spot, and an open dot for every right colour in the wrong spot.
- Puzzle
- Logic for all ages
- Easy, Medium and Hard
- Saves your best on each level
- Saves your fewest guesses
How to play
- Pick a level. Easy is 3 colours from 4 crayons. Medium is 4 colours from 6. Hard is 4 colours from 6, and a colour can be used more than once.
- Tap crayons to fill your row, then tap Check. Tap a filled spot to clear it.
- A filled dot means a crayon is the right colour in the right spot.
- An open dot means that colour is in the code, but in a different spot.
- The dots don't line up with your crayons, so you have to work out which crayon each dot is about. Crack the code before you run out of rows.
Controls
- Tap a crayon to add it to the next empty spot.
- Tap a spot in your row to clear it, or tap Clear to start the row again.
- On a keyboard, press 1 to 6 for crayons, Backspace to undo and Enter to check.
- The Sound button turns sound on or off.
Tips
- Use your first guesses to find out which colours are in the code at all.
- If a guess gets no dots, none of those colours are in the code.
- Keep one crayon in the same spot and move the others to see which dot changes.
- Your fewest guesses on each level is saved. Try to beat it!
About Crayon Code
Crayon Code is our version of the classic code-breaking game, often played with pegs, redrawn with a box of crayons.
It's a great first logic puzzle: Easy is short and simple, and Hard, with repeated colours, will make grown-ups think too.
