Marble Blitz
A bouncy marble-volley game drawn in pencil on a sheet of notebook paper. Rows of numbered paper cups slide down the page one turn at a time, and your little doodle buddy flicks a whole stream of glass marbles to knock them down. Every bump takes one off a cup's number, and at zero it crumples up. Grab paper clips for more marbles, collect gold star stickers for bonus points, and see how many turns you can last before a cup slides off the edge of the desk.
- Arcade
- Endless turns
- Phone, tablet and computer
- Saves your best score
How to play
- Drag anywhere on the page to aim. The pencil-dotted line shows where your first bounce will land.
- Let go and your doodle buddy flicks all its marbles in a quick stream. They bounce off the walls and the paper cups.
- Each hit knocks 1 off a cup's number, and a cup crumples when it reaches 0. Paper clips give you an extra marble, gold stars are worth 3 bonus points, and a pink eraser rubs out its whole row.
- The first marble to roll back onto the desk sets where your buddy flicks from next. Then every cup slides down one row and a new, tougher row appears at the top.
- Your score is the turn you reach plus your bonuses. The game ends when a cup slides off the desk.
Controls
- Phone or tablet: drag to aim and lift your finger to flick. Tap the page during a volley to speed it up.
- Computer: drag with the mouse and release to flick, or use the left and right arrow keys to aim and Space to flick.
- During a long volley, Speed up makes the marbles roll faster and Recall marbles brings them all back. New game starts over.
- The Sound button turns sound effects on or off.
Tips
- Bounce your shot off a side wall to get marbles behind a row of cups, where they rattle around and score lots of hits.
- Grab the paper clips early. More marbles make every turn stronger.
- Clear the cups closest to the desk edge first, especially when they're circled in orange.
- Save a pink eraser for a row of big numbers.
About Marble Blitz
Marble Blitz is a marble-volley game in the brick-breaker tradition, sketched in graphite on ruled paper. Numbered paper cups slide down one row per turn, and your doodle buddy flicks a stream of glass marbles that bounce off the walls and the cups, knocking one off a number with every hit. When a cup reaches zero it crumples into a puff of paper scraps.
The game is about angles. A shot bounced off a side wall can get your marbles behind a row, where they rattle around and score dozens of hits. Paper clips add marbles, gold stars add points and a pink eraser rubs out a whole row. It ends when a cup slides off the desk, so the cups nearest the edge always come first.
