Pencil Patrol
A maze chase drawn on a notebook page. Stubby the stubby little pencil scribbles through coloured-pencil mazes collecting pencil dots, while four googly-eyed erasers wander around trying to rub him out. Each eraser has its own way of moving, so you can learn to dodge them. Grab a gold star sticker and the erasers go pale and wobbly, and for a few seconds Stubby can bonk them back into the pencil case for bonus points. Clear every dot to turn to the next page, where everything moves a little faster.
- Arcade
- 4 pages that repeat and speed up
- Phone, tablet and computer
- Saves your best score
How to play
- Guide Stubby around the page and collect every pencil dot to clear the level.
- Steer before you reach a turn. Stubby remembers your move and takes the next opening that way.
- If an eraser touches Stubby, he gets rubbed dizzy and loses a pencil. Lose all 3 pencils and the game is over.
- Grab a gold star sticker in a corner and the erasers turn pale for a few seconds. Bonk them for 200, 400, 800 and 1600 points.
- Watch for an apple, glue stick or crayon below the pencil case for bonus points. Score 10,000 to earn an extra pencil.
Controls
- Phone or tablet: swipe anywhere on the page to steer, or use the arrow pad below the maze.
- Computer: arrow keys or W, A, S, D to steer. P pauses and M turns sound on or off.
- The Pause button stops the game, and the cross button shows or hides the arrow pad.
- The sound button turns sound on or off.
Tips
- Use the side tunnels. Erasers slow down in them, but Stubby doesn't.
- Save the gold star until erasers are close, then bonk as many as you can in a row.
- Pinky chases you, Smudge tries to get ahead of you, Zigzag zigzags and Dozer gets shy up close.
- Every so often the erasers drift back to their own corners, which gives you room to grab dots.
About Pencil Patrol
Pencil Patrol is a maze-chase game in the spirit of the arcade classics, drawn on a notebook page. Stubby the pencil scribbles through coloured-pencil mazes collecting dots while four googly-eyed erasers try to rub him out, and each eraser has its own habit: Pinky chases, Smudge cuts you off, Zigzag zigzags and Dozer gets shy up close. Learning those habits is the whole game.
The gold star sticker turns the tables for a few seconds, letting Stubby bonk the erasers back into the pencil case for climbing bonus points. Nothing here is scary, just a lot of googly eyes, and every page you clear is a little faster than the last. Stubby, the erasers and the mazes are all our own pencil art.
