Squiggle Worm
A wiggly arcade game doodled on a page of graph paper. You steer a happy striped squiggle worm across the squares, gobbling glowing ink dots to grow longer and longer. Other coloured-pencil squiggles roam the page too. If one bumps its nose into your body, it goes poof into a puff of pencil scribbles and leaves a trail of ink blots for you to eat. Can you become the longest squiggle on the page?
- Arcade
- Endless play
- Phone, tablet and computer
- Saves your best score
How to play
- Your worm always squiggles forward. Steer it toward the glowing ink dots to eat them and grow longer.
- Your score is your length. The live board in the corner shows the five longest squiggles, and you are in yellow.
- If your worm's head bumps into another squiggle's body or the edge of the page, it's bonk and the game is over.
- When another squiggle bumps into your body, it goes poof and drops a trail of ink blots. Ink blots are worth extra length!
- Hold Zoom to dash. It costs a little length, so use it to grab ink blots or slip past other squiggles. The other squiggles get bigger and bolder the longer you play.
Controls
- Phone or tablet: drag anywhere to steer, like a joystick. Hold the Zoom button (or a second finger) to dash.
- Computer: your worm squiggles toward the mouse pointer. Hold the mouse button to dash.
- Keyboard: arrow keys or W A S D to steer, Space to dash.
- The sound button turns sound on or off.
Tips
- Squiggle around the edge of big groups of doodles instead of through them.
- Watch the mini-map for the edge of the page and for big squiggles nearby.
- Curl around a smaller squiggle so it bumps into you. Then eat its ink blots!
- Only dash when you need to. Every dash makes you a little shorter.
About Squiggle Worm
Squiggle Worm is a grow-the-worm arcade game. You steer a pencil-drawn striped worm across a page of graph paper, eating glowing ink dots to get longer, while other coloured-pencil squiggles roam the same page. If one bumps its nose into your body it goes poof into pencil scribbles and leaves a trail of ink blots; if you bump into theirs, it is game over.
The other squiggles are computer-controlled and get bigger and bolder the longer you survive, so the live leaderboard in the corner is a real race. The Zoom dash costs a little length, which makes every escape a trade. The mini-map is worth a glance before you commit to a turn, especially near the pencil shavings, erasers and paper clips heaped around the page's edge.
